COVERINGS

The covering does not only isolate from atmospheric events and their consequences, but they also repair valuable and various capitals: machinery and technical tools, products and stocked goods and last but not least labour force.
The function of the covering is to protect and preserve the internal part of the structures in an efficient and lasting in time way and according to the regulations in force.
The main causes of a covering wear and tear are represented by ageing, bad weather and thermal changes. Sandwich covering is highly insulating and long lasting and it is so far maybe the best solution because it is almost inalterable in time.
Re-covering is realized in sheeted material chosen according to specific work needs, among a wide range of types and thickness. It avoids the removal and the disposal of the old covering; it does not imply the stop of production and has lower costs.

INSULATION

Insulation is an isolating system that has the function of a thermal wrapping, which, applied as a coating on the external part of coverings and walls, represents a real barrier against steam and avoids heat dispersion. Its application enables a considerable lowering of the energetic consumption, with a real saving on heating and conditioning costs and it is in conformity to the regulations in matter of environmental protection.
There are various types of insulation.

IMPERMEABILIZATION

Impermeabilization is closely connected to the infiltration concept, which is considered the first cause of covering renewal.
The efficiency of a covering can be compromised by the passing of time, its bad realization, lack of maintenance, bad weather.
All these things may cause invisible damages but constant in time which compromise the holding of the covering with consequent damages to the underneath structures and to all that is contained in it.
A highly waterproofing method is represented by bituminous sheaths.
They are efficient steam barriers.
There is a great variety of them, they are ductile, easy to use and to restore, they are used especially on flat coverings and they adapt well to surfaces.
Among the advantages the reduced costs and times of realization are to be noticed.
The disadvantages consist in minor duration and the necessity of periodic maintenance.

ASBESTOS

Asbestos is commonly called “Asbestos cement”.
From 1992 law n. 257 forbids its selling but its replacement is not compulsory except in cases of deteriorated coverings.
It causes health problems and only a few companies are qualified to remove this material according to the modalities foreseen by law disposal.
In fact it is necessary to respect all the regulations in terms of work and environment safety.
